Another border region, Lake Tahoe sits at approximately 6,000 feet in elevation at the crux of the California and Nevada border. Lake Tahoe combines the best of both California and Nevada lifestyles as well as the beauty of nature in all her full glory. South Lake Tahoe offers guests the thrill of casino excitement complete with amenities such as world class spas, nightclubs and fabulous entertainment. Summer activities include picnics and water recreation at any of South Lake Tahoe’s beaches, many of which include fire pits and boat launching facilities. South Lake Tahoe also offers equipment rental including jet skis, canoes and kayaks. Zephyr Cove Marina, located just four miles away from some of the Stateline casinos, has everything from wave runners to paddle boats and kayaks. On weekends, guests can enjoy brunch on a paddle boat cruising along the lake also departing from Zephyr Cove. The fresh mountain water provides a refreshingly unparalleled swimming experience. Winter activities in the region include snowboarding and skiing, as well as snowshoeing, snowmobile and cross country skiing. With over 400 inches of annual average snow fall each year, Lake Tahoe is truly a world class ski and snowboard destination. Much like its southern counterpart, the North Lake Tahoe region also offers gaming facilities and outdoor recreation.

Guests who enjoy music can visit the Crystal Bay Club and Casino where regular acts include visits by world class Jazz musicians. The Cal-Neva resort, once owned by Frank Sinatra, features 220 guestrooms, all with stunning views of the water. In addition to the lake, Tahoe is graced with several smaller surrounding streams and ponds. Several bait and tackle shops around the area offer information on fishing licenses and local game such as the rare brown trout. Many boating companies also offer fishing charters for the lake itself.
